Title:
PRR 4835, GG-1, 1962
Description:
Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 18 June 1962. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #4835 and #4802. Both are GG-1's built during 1935. #4835 was built in Juniata during July, but #4802 was built by General Electric in May. They are pulling a southbound mixed-cargo freight train through the North Philadelphia Passenger Station.

PRR 4802, GG-1, 1967
Description:
Electric Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via C.G. Parsons that was taken in Kearny, New Jersey, on 24 December 1967. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4802, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built by General Electric during May of 1935 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. Long gone are the good days of spit 'n' polish!
