Title:
PRR 4752, B-1, 1968
Description:
Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Allan H. Roberts that was taken at Sunnyside Yard in Long Island City, New York, in early 1968. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania No. 4752, Class B-1, Long Island City, N.Y., 1968." Shown here is PRR engine #4752, a B-1 (C) switcher built in Juniata as number "3913" during June of 1926, rated at 570 horsepower, and renumbered "4752" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. Note the two MP-54 electrified passenger coaches in the background: #29 and #487. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-1).
