Description:
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken just East of the Coaling Tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1957. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1130, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1913 and retired in October of 1958. Note that its main driving rods have been removed. Partially visible at the far right is PRR engine #6864, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain built by Baldwin in October of 1926 and retired in December of 1955.
