Description:
Unfortunately the RRPA data base does not have an option for the 2-6-6-4 configuration so it is listed under the 2-6-6-2 choice. Built by Baldwin in 1936 as Seaboard Air Line #2505, it served fairly well before being sold to the B&O in August of 1947. It was renumbered BO #7705 and continued until beind sold for scrap in June of 1953. Specs - 69" drivers, impressive 230 psi boiler pressure, four sets of 22x30" cylinders, massive engine weight of 480,000 lb, tractive effort of 82,000 lb. No exact date or photographer was listed for the photo.
