Description:  Note where front steps were added so that a trainman could gain accsess to the front walk way. A group of these units came from Amtrak in exchange for CF7s which Amtrak used for MofW service and Santa Fe added extra ballast to the SDPs for freight service. What a catch this was on CSX in Georgia. To bad it did not lead.

Description:  Santa Fe purchased like 40 SDP40Fs from Amtrak and traded for CF7s. These ran on the BNSF until the fall grain season rush of 2001. Santa Fe notched out the nose for crew access to the nose door. Overland makes these in brass HO. Check Ebay.
