Description:  Here is page 34 of a 43-page article by James J.D. Lynch, Jr., entitled "Overview Of The History And Development Of The Pennsylvania Railroad's Altoona Shops." It was published originally in the Autumn 1996 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 51. Top Left-Hand Photo: Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9619 and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9619 is an AF-16 built in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Bottom Left-Hand Photo: Shown here is the PRR's "Aerotrain" built by General Motors during July of 1955. Top Right-Hand Photo: Shown here is PRR engine #8826, an AS-16M built by the American Locomotive Company in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Middle Right-Hand Photo: Shown here is PRR-Railway Express Car #7480. Bottom Right-Hand Photo: Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8606 and #8608. Both are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1955 and rated at 2,400 horsepower each.
